well as far as I'm concerned yuan long ping has to be one of the most important public figures in recent history .

his death was such a tragedy.

which he was living,he used his knowledge to make the world a better place.

I mean,he could have just sat back and had a fabulous life.

he invented hybrid rice,which solved the problem of food and clothing in China

he devoted his life to the study of rice,invented kinds of rice, and solved kinds of problems.

so that's why I feel he was sush an important figure
