Our ancestors were on the formidable journey to protect our country.

万里征途，铁血铸城。

They kept fighting against enemies constantly without a rest.

霜鬓绘四时，华发缠子夜。

We would have become the wandering ghosts if we had not been under the protection of them.

自非攘夷灭匈，无所安身立命。

We reflected on the fatal war of the past.

思战火，传边声。

The drums was beaten deafeningly and the sky was clouded with the smoke of gunpowder.

角响八百里，鼓动九重天。

The flute was not able to express the deep longing of that era.

胡笳觞觞，诉不尽心中愁苦。

The hardship was eventually ended.

艰难苦恨终有时，黄沙漫卷旧疆场。

The snow was melting;the flowers were blooming;the butterflies were fluttering and the spring was coming.

残雪映春来，蝶舞花自开。

Nowadays,the warriors are faded into dust.

今灵旗皆隐，宫阙千重，无往也。

I don’t know if anyone can memorize their names thousands of years later.

千载之后，复有人记，先人之名。
